Legacy Claims: The Future and the Great Causation Debate

Overview
Providing an update on long tail claims and emerging areas of (possible) future liability in the legacy market. The course covers recent developments in a range of developing risks and how they will affect the legacy market.
It will also, for the first, time run a debate on the causation principles/tests that could apply in such cases with two leading Kings Counsel arguing for completing tests that might apply in a range of cases.
It is designed to enable all delegates to develop an understanding of emerging risks and possible liabilities in the legacy claims market and the causation issues that may apply.
Target Audience
This session is aimed at claims handlers, managers and any other technical claims employees who have policy exposure to long tail claims.
Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this course delegates will have the information to;
• Identify future risks relevant to their portfolio
• Gain an understanding of ESG issues, the issues arising in aerotoxicity claims and how such claims are likely to develop, PFAS and head injuries in sport
• Question causation issues in developing risks.
All speakers have many years’ practical experience in their professional fields, and their real-life practical responses to some of the sessions issues will help every delegate.
